NZSSAA Track, Field and Road Race Championships, December 4-6, Timaru
The Timaru LOC have asked Executive to consider extending the championships to either 3 days or 2.5 days to accommodate events that either take up considerable time and arena space or pose a safety risk if other events are on at the same time. They also have concerns about the pressure of a two day event on officials who are faced with long hours of officiating in order to complete all the events on offer. Their letter is available here for your information and feedback. Please email your thoughts to John Tylden oe@nzssaa.org.nz . Executive will make a decision on the request at our meeting in late March. In the meantime people intending to go to the championships should plan their travel and accommodation to take in the possibility of some events at least being on the Friday particularly Hammer and Pole Vault and possibly Long Jump qualifying rounds as requested. |
