NZSSAA Cross Country Teams to Australian Cross Country Championships Sunshine Coast 25 August 2018

Application forms for those applying to be considered for spare team places will be available by emailing oe@nzssaa.org.nz by Wednesday July 4 to have a form sent to you.

Boys and Girls Teams to take part in the Australian Open and Schools Cross Country Championships in Sunshine Coast, Queensland August 25-27 2018 will be selected following the NZSSAA championships in Taupo on June 16. Initially the first 12 finishers in the Senior Boys and Senior Girls races will be offered the opportunity. If not all places are taken up there will be an opportunity for other athletes to be considered e.g. athletes who finished close to the top 12, runners who for some reason did not perform to the level usually expected of them. Application forms for those applying to be considered for spare team places will be available from the managers at the championships.

Female Manager/Coach required

Expressions of interest from women for the position of Assistant Manager/Coach for the NZSSAA team to the Australian Open and Schools Cross Country Championships in Sunshine Coast, Queensland August 25-27 2018 are called for (Paul Meads and Rhys Taucher have already been appointed from within Executive as Manager/Coach and Assistant Manager/Coach respectively). Expressions of interest should be emailed to John Tylden, NZSSAA Chairman by June 10 2017 using oe@nzssaa.org.nz.

Athlete Information – This year’s event will have a race commentary team providing public address announcements and commentary for each of the races. To assist the commentators we are requesting athletes expecting to finish in the top ten to provide some basic information on their recent performances. Team Bases
Corporate Boxes which have seating outside the box and room for 12 inside and would be ideal for team bases are available for $50. We have eight available and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Officials
We have secured some funding for Officials (accommodation and meals). Please pass on this information and if you know of officials interested in coming to the North Is SS Championships please encourage them to attend. We all know that it is vital we have a large group of officials and we are determined to look after them.

Final Call for California Track & Field Tour

Spots are filling up for the 2018 California Track & Field Tour. The team leaves Auckland April 3 and returns April 21. The athletes will be based in Los Angeles and compete in meets over three weekends amongst top high school and college athletes in an ideal climate conducive to top performances.
