Assistant Team Manager/Coach Positions at 2024 Australian Track and Field Championships

Expressions of interest are called for the position(s) of an Assistant Team Manager/Coaches for the NZSSAA team to the 2024 Australian Track and Field Championships, in Adelaide, Australia. The team will travel from Saturday 13th to Saturday 20th April 2024.

These positions will be to support the Team Leader Judith Revell and a selected NZSSAA Under 18 team. Experience at major track & field championships is recommended.

Interested applicants should make an EOI before the 31st of January 2024.

NZSSAA 50th Jubilee Track and Field and 48th Road Race Championships, Nga Puna Wai Sports Hub, Christchurch, December 8-10, 2023

Results

  • Realtime Results
    Results for track events will be available online at soon as possible after all races of each round have been completed and the results are confirmed. Results for field events will be available at the conclusion of each event but will take longer to check, process and enter.
  • Athletic Live Results
    Unofficial results arrive on the Athletic Live website instantly at the completion of each attempt. This means no waiting till the end of a competition for results to be uploaded. Results can be accessed for free from any device with an internet connection and the ability to open a website. Track results also have times which are updated instantly as photo finish judges analyse the image. Once results are confirmed official results are uploaded and marked as such.

Road Race Results

The intention is to show these on Athletic Live as soon as they are available.
Individual road race results will begin appearing in each race as runners cross the finish line. Team results will be calculated and appear for each race a little later. All results will remain available via the above link until they are transferred to the NZSSAA website during the following week.

    Athletes who have entered by 15 November will be able to have their names (as per entries and not nicknames) printed on the back of T-shirt and Hoodie items. Online orders will be open until 20 November.

Following feedback up to August 31 the following changes to the original programme have been made:

  • The JG High Jump has been moved from Sunday afternoon to Friday at 2.45pm
  • The JG/SG Hammer Throw has been brought forward to 3pm on Friday
  • The SB Long Jump has been delayed until 9.20am on Saturday until the SB 110 hurdles heats have been completed
  • The SG High Jump has been delayed until 9.30am on Saturday until the SG 100 hurdles heats have been completed
  • Please note the switch in the order of the hurdles heats on Saturday with the SG heats occurring before the JB heats
  • The SG Triple Jump has been delayed until 11.30am on Saturday

50th Track & Field Championships Dinner

The New Zealand Secondary Schools Athletics Association will be holding a dinner to celebrate the 50th running of these Championships first held in 1973 in Christchurch. This year’s championships will also be held in Christchurch to commemorate this important milestone. A dinner to mark this event will take place at the Nga Puna Wai Sports Hub Lounge and Cafe. on Friday December 8 following the end of Day 1 competition. See below for more information.

Classics Tour 2024

NZSSAA are pleased to announce that following the NZSSAA Track and Field Championships in Christchurch a Classics Tour team of individual athletes will be selected to represent New Zealand Secondary Schools. The named athletes must commit to entering and competing in at least two of Classics Meets scheduled for January and February 2024.

Australian Junior (U18) Track and Field Championships 2024, Adelaide

Expressions of interest for selection in the NZSSAA Track and Field Team to compete in the Australian Junior (U18) track and Field Championships are being called for. The Championships are being held in Adelaide, South Australia from 15-19 April 2024 (travelling on 13 April and returning 20 April 2024). Athletes looking to be selected are asked to complete the online expression of interest form by 18 December.

Assistant Team Manager/Coach Positions at 2024 ISF World Schools Cross Country Champs

Expressions of interest are called for the position(s) of an Assistant Team Manager/Coach for the NZSSAA team to the 2024 ISF World Schools Cross Country Championships, in Nairobi, Kenya from 9-14 May 2024.

These positions will be to support the head of Delegation Tony Rogers with the NZL Boys and Girls teams travelling alongside Westlake Boys and Wellington Girls team and leads. The team is expected to be away for a minimum two weeks.

Expressions of interest should be emailed to Tony Rogers, NZSSAA Chairman by Monday 13 November using tony@acesports.co.nz. Please provide a brief resume of your experience with secondary school cross country athletes and events.

Your expression of interest should be headed “WXC KENYA 2024” in the Subject line.

ISF World Schools Cross Country Teams 2024

The 2024 ISF World Cross Country is planned to be held in Kenya from 10-15 May 2024.

NZSSAA have selected one Girls School representative team and one Boys School representative team along with 6 Girls and 6 Boys as New Zealand representatives.

ISF World Schools Cross Country Championships 2024

NZSSAA are now taking expressions of interest to attend the above event to be held in Kenya 2024. Please see the attached information sheet for further details. Expressions of interest from both school teams and individuals need to be submitted by Friday 18th August.
